How do I remove this Sinar part?

I'm hoping someone has come across this before...

Before I resort to the fairly ugly solution of hacksaw and file - does anyone know how to remove this silver aluminium part from this Sinar (intermediate I think) standard?

As you can see I have temporarily removed the thin covers nearby but there are no fixings to be seen. I can only imagine that it is secured by a couple of hidden pins which are a tolerance fit into the part.

I have tried prising, and some fairly gentle taps in every direction.

Any advice (based on experience!) would be gratefully received

Screw on the bottom or top of the filter rod holder block. There is a roll pin that adds friction to the joint which adds friction to removing this filter rod holder block.

Hi Bernice, thanks for the rapid reply.

I've already removed the two bolts (they thread through into the black frame) and the grub screw at the end of the block (this compresses a spring and a nylon ball against the filter rod).

But the thing is still stuck fast... it seems sensible that the two bolts would have held it (as they thread into the black frame), could the holes have been threaded with the parts clamped together, and this be somehow keeping them together? I don't know enough about engineering.

The aim is to mangle as little as possible

Pull gently with enough force at the body of this part, there is a roll pin (acts like a spring) that holds this block in place.

(Of very little interest but if it helps someone else...)

It was simply glued on, presumably before they drilled and tapped the holes for the bolts.

I just gripped the silver part in the vice and wiggled a bit (the standard that is, not me )
