No matter what you choose for the finish, it wouldn't hurt to place a plastic tray in the bottom to catch the drips.

I keep my mouth shut about all kinds of things, like when I see a cat used for lens cleaning when that's known to leave hairy residue unless the cat is held correctly, a very bad thing for lenses and cameras. But I suppose I'd get jumped for pointing that out. Most people pay more for junk cats than I do for a high quality cats, simply due to a lack of good information. Maybe next time I should charge for it. My apologies for offering advice for free.

A dog tongue is great, but nothing works better than a cat tongue to really "polish" up an old lens and improve the bokeh.
Our dang cute kitten severed our brand new fiber optic line. Just got it repaired this morning. But this time I dug out a roll of real gaffers tape and immobilized the line to the wall. Ugly; but one has to do what it takes.
As i was reading that I was expecting that gaffer's tape to be put to use immobilizing the cat...
Hmm.... Great idea! But I don't think my wife would approve. My brother once had a spoof paint rolling device designed to hold a cat rather than an ordinary roller tube. The little Devil is sleeping right now - cute as heck, laid on his back with his paws in the air. He's the only cat I've ever seen pooping in the litter box literally standing up on just his two hind legs. Maybe I should submit him to a talent show.
Well as for dust, my cabinet will be in a clean room that I have built into my house. The room has a separate hepa filter system, will have positive air pressure at all times and several ionizing fans as well.
The cabinet is made from birch plywood and I want to keep the natural grain and accentuate it. I will for sure use a drip pan.
