I also use the silicone domes and they work very well. I use cotton swabs for dividers because you can pull out bits of cotton to fit but don’t reuse them. I had two (sold one to a friend) so I can rotate them so don’t need to wait a day until it dries for the next run. They’ll work damp but not a good idea to introduce moisture into your changing tent. I use enough developer to cover the entire sheet and just rock it back and forth several times a minute.

    So, an update:

I went ahead with the rubber bumper mod as planned. I shot a couple of sheets of FP4+ today at EI 100, and developed them in the tank (set in opposite corners). I used a pre-soak for 5 mins, then Pyrocat-HD 1:1:100 (510 mL total volume), 22 C for 14 minutes, semi-stand agitation. The negs are still hanging to dry, but on inspecting them they appear to be perfectly developed as far as I can see.

    Huzzah!

Excellent, then no reason not to jump up to 5x7, no? (FWIW, I'm big on that format for hybrid, if for no other reason than you can carve up the negative in just about every useful aspect ratio and still be working with as much film as you get in native 4x5.) At any rate, I'll look forward to your results as you go forward.

    I don't need more GAS

The aspect ratio is intriguing I'll admit, but the lack of film options in that format would be a bit of a drag.
