Thanks, this will be my first visit to the Met since the pandemic started. And the Neue Galerie, which I've also missed, is just up the street.

There's a show I would like to see. Hope it comes to Europe.

For those who have never been to NYC, look up "Museum Mile" - one could easily spend several days just taking in the Met and the other museums/galleries that are within a short walk from it.

Thanks for posting this – I hope to see the show in person.

Does Dia Beacon museum still has a permanent exhibition of theirs on display? I never saw it but heard and saw pictures that looked epic but perhaps that was many years ago.

just checked look like the Dia one ended in 2016

The Met is not requiring visitors to wear masks. However, New York is going through another coronavirus wave. Positive tests hit 15% yesterday for the first time in six months, and hospitalisations are increasing. It's probably a good idea to check the current situation before coming to New York to see the show, and to consider whether you want to wear a mask anyway. Also, maybe try to avoid the busiest hours, a good idea regardless of coronavirus. If you plan to go to the Met via the subway, a mask is still required at stations and on the trains. I'll know better when I go to the show next week, but I suspect that a fairly high percentage of New York residents who visit the Met are wearing a mask even though it's not required.

Gate to gate, about 90 minutes by plane to LaGuardia. This time of year, it's best to avoid evening flights in and out of LaGuardia; they're often heavily delayed or cancelled due to thunderstorms. About six hours by car or bus. By train, the Adirondack running between Montreal and New York is a nice trip.

For those out west: apparently the show will move on to SFMOMA for a run from Dec 17, 2022 - Apr 2, 2023.

Yeah I used to spend a good amount of time in NYC pre-corona but right now travelling is a nightmare, my Nexus expired etc.
