Many places require a cold water check valve or anti siphon for outside hoses and DR sinks

    Factories too

I have to sign a paper each year, in this small town, everybody does

Hot water does not need it, as 'normal' Hot Water heaters prevent by design

The HASS is a good one

The problem is backflow to potable sources

Thanks for the info. In reading some info on the subject from Connecticut's Department of Public Health, it seems like the state of Connecticut requires backflow prevention devices when one is hooked up to a public water system. I have seen those devices around but never knew what they were. We get our water from a pump down in a pipe probably 60 feet underground i.e. private well, so backflow prevention is not required. Public water systems must actually submit a cross connection survey report every year to the state. Actually good info to know...

Intellifaucet D250 mixing valve opinions wtd

The D250 has worked well for me. I use it as a supply to my Jobo ATL machines. I did stick an anti siphon on the mixer, I also installed one way valves on the hot and cold supply lines.

Donít use my installation as a blue print on how to install pex.

When I first installed mine I didnt have a check valve in line and found I had hot water backing into the cold side of the system if I shut the unit down with its valves open so I could use the water unregulated. Check valve stopped that.

I only have the hot water to the sink unregulated. The several cold taps are run through the Intellifaucet. Piping was enough of a pain without adding more tees to the layout. As it is the check valve on the cold side does its job perfectly.
