    What lensboard size hole for 50's Compur shutter 2-X

    Hi,

    I bought a used lens with a shutter I'm not familiar with.

    It's a Compur shutter, as far as I can tell one of 3 in the same series: Compur 2-X 5/I; 5/II; or 6/II (type # CN-1408-012/013/015).

    The lens is a Schneider Tele-Xenar 270mm f5.5.

    Pic attached.

    Anyone know what size lens board hole this shutter calls for?

    Remove the retaining ring. Measure the inside diameter.

    Inside diameter is 49mm.

    The attached chart was formerly on SK Grimes website. I suspect you have a Compeer #2 shutter.

    A 2 inch hole should suffice.
