Thanks. It was certainly interesting. We don't get those over on this coast, as far as I'm aware.

Actually, while I saw a ton of signs about sneakers while at various coastlines, this was one of the first places I stopped and I didn't actually know about sneakers! So I was extra surprised.

Here's a shot that came out really nicely I think. This is from the Spring Ranch Nature Preserve, just north of where I had stayed overnight at the Van Damme State Park campground. I drove by at first and thought it was private property but turned around to investigate. It was a gorgeous morning after an early-morning hike at Van Damme and I am really glad I turned around.

I would have thought by now you would have gotten your hands on a good mat cutter Bryan. I might be talked into parting with mine, havent used it in ages and really dont have a good place to set it up.

Gary, I really hate cutting mats, which is the main reason I don't have one! Also, the company I've worked with for the past couple of years can do exact custom mats to my measurements and the prices are about the same as buying the mat board itself, so the cuts only cost me a few cents. That being said, I also have to order in bulk, and I really have been meaning to get a mat cutter for one-off customs. So let me know what you have and what it might cost! I am also in a new/additional gallery space and they do custom framing - I've been told I can request anything from them as needed and get it at cost, but they are a couple of states away.

Randy - a full R66 trip is definitely something I'd like to do - that was a highlight of my trip! But I only did Oklahoma City to about Albuquerque before breaking off and heading southwest towards Phoenix.

From the very accurately-named "Stonefield Beach" in Oregon. To me this looked like a drone/aerial view of the beaches in CA/OR with a big haystack, rather than just a small tableau near the edge of the water. Perhaps I will title "The Mini-Haystack" .

I looked my cutter up. You probably wouldnt want to pay what its worth. Dick Blick has them on sale for $550, Amazon lists it for $750 and regular price is over a thousand. Wife thinks I should hang on to it.

I hope I never see Phoenix again

    Hot!

I lived there for a while, often 'down by the river' before the city got too big

Since the 60's I made a point of using backroads, old motel, hotel, real food

Stop for gas at the smallest pump still open and talk

One of my favorite old river hotels, still ran a Cat House

as in, 'do you want a cat with that room'

I declined an actual cat for the night

They had a dozen in a window, I never saw them move

    Iowa side of the river

Really good food in a big dining room
