Vermonters, please chime in on Autumn color visit

Not a Vermonter but I was there last Fall. Stayed near Woodstock (that is the one in VT, not NY). There are several covered bridges and picturesque farm houses within easy drives. You can find specific drives on the internet, some of which have already been mentioned. Make your reservations early though, there's very limited accommodations for the number of visitors. Hi Philip,

The Fall foliage is is quite varied across the state. Keep that in mind as you plan your dates & where you plan to go. The state of Vermont has Fall foliage reports / forecasting during the Fall with updates on where the colors are peaking. Look at Vermont.com
You can look at last year to get an idea of the pattern.
