You got very luck not hitting much rain. This spring has been colder than average and wetter this year!

Regarding- The Hoh rainforest, it is quite a long trail and does have some nice river views, but honestly there are much less crowded trails if you want to get into the rainforest with a river view (hint: check out the Bogachiel, it's much wilder and just as pretty). If you can make it all the way to the end of the Hoh river trail to the Blue Glacier that is another story- but that is a multi-day trip for most.

Beaches- If you want to do a long day or one-night backpacking trip on the beach I would highly recommend the Cape Alava loop. Lots of great sights to see including some pretty impressive petrogylphs.

Sounds like a good exploratory trip.

Last time I was in that area I hitch-hiked through in 1976...spent 4th of July in Forks, WA. They would not let this hippy into the square dance hall, although they were willing to let the two young ladies I was with in. I did get up to Hurricane Ridge, got some images with the Rolleiflex somewhere. Since then I have spent more time in central and eastern Washington, but I now have friends and family in western WA, so might be spending more time up there in the future.
