If it is bolted to the wall it is no longer free standing.

My 8x10 and 5x7 Zone VI model 2 mounted on wall, a couple feet above concrete floor, no ambient vibrations works for me. I crank them up out of the way as I use a couple bench mounted Beseler 45 MXT
Had a Zone VI model 2 and hated it. That's when I got the Durst SM-183! It has a 5x7 camera on an L-184 base.

I get by just fine. I have limited space, no room for a monster.

    Just to update...

The deposit is in on the C252 bench model with an LED head. Should have it by the end of the Summer, just in time for off season printing.

Keep us posted. Getting a new production enlarger these days is a big deal.

Well...I have a Zone VI model 2...and I absolutely LOVE IT!!

And about wall vs bench mounting? If your bench is truly sturdy...and if the legs of the bench can effectively rest on the basement cement - then this can be a better bet than wall mounting - as walls can transmit all kinds of vibrations from things like household utilities, passing trucks, etc.

That’s weird, I typed bench when I meant freestanding. In the end I did opt for the freestanding unit. It’ll fit in my space and be a bit easier overall to work with I think. I probably won’t take advantage of its full capabilities but you never know.

Now if I could just find a dang table top RA4 processor!

My last studio, I bench mounted a floor model 8X10 Elwood

Actually a very heavy duty desk I am sitting at right now

The 3 bolt holes are not a problem

Getting the cast iron base on the bench was a problem

    Very heavy

How heavy of an enlarger can you bench press? Mine are all bolted to the floor as well as the wall; not going anywhere.
