    Anybody here using Shanghai 220?

220 Shanghai twenty rolls. by Nokton48, on Flickr

I bought four rolls from the Shanghai websource and like it! So I bought another twenty rolls, and here they are! I have dusted off my six Hasselblad A24's, and have three 220 backs for my new to me Mamiya C22's and C33's. Four rolls are about to go into my JOBO Multitank Five.

I have just yesterday ordered another twenty rolls, this time coming from Ebay Hong Kong. I had to cancel my Shanghai order, due to COVID lockdown. To their credit, they refunded me within an hour.

Anybody here using this stuff? Thirteen Bucks for 220 fresh B&W. Is the emulsion made by ORWO?? In my freezer I have 220 Plus-X Professional. 220 HP5+, and 220 Tri-X Professional. I am saving that for future and ordering Shanghai to use for now

I bought 10 rolls a while ago, and I'm pretty happy with it.
    I like the results I've gotten with lab-processed F76 and home-developed Rodinal.
I'm not a big fan of their self-adhesive sealing tapes at the beginning & end of the rolls, however.

ORWO is East European. I can't imagine China being involved in ORWO or vice versa. China has a huge market on their own, and makes lots of film -- and B&W is no problem for them. I hope there is enough of a market to keep it going.

Here's a sampling of just some of China's 35mm FILM SLR cameras:

I've used quite a bit of Shanghai 120 and really like the results in undiluted D-23. I'm planning on ordering some 220 for use in my Pentax 67II.

I've had one roll jam at frame 19 in my C22 Mamiya. I reloaded up the roll in the dark and re-ran it through the camera, exposing the last few frames with difficulty. So far that has only happened once. But watch for that. Even so I will continue with it.

Orwo was something I read somewhere else. Seems possible just asking

I have a lot of 4x5 and 5x7 GP3 from when they were closing it out.

I have some old J&C which I think is 120 GP3. Bought it on close out

My Stash of 220 Film by Nokton48, on Flickr

In the center back, twenty rolls fresh Shanghai 220, to go with what I already have in stock and loaded. On the back left, forty rolls of bought fresh 220 TXP, when B&H was closing it out. Always deep frozen. In the front, eleven rolls of 220 PXP bought wherever I could find it. Usuable but questionable. And in the center, five rolls of 220 HP5+ bought fresh and frozen. Wish I had more HP5+ in 220, I used it for B&W wedding or two. And finally lower right, a propack of 220 Konica 160. I'll use this for frame spacing tests. Thanks to Mr Fujicaman for sending me the 220 Konica!

All of these new to me cameras are loaded with 220 Shanghai

C22 with 55mm, C22 with 80mm, C33 with 105DS, and C33 with 135mm Bluedot. Just got a fourth Stovepipe Finder, all these cameras have 220 Backs on them. Dual Hoya Med Yellow Filters on each lens. Been shooting 220 Shanghai have a lot of new negs to print. Results very good and consistent. I have Hasselblads but these are just great for some things.
