    He had the booth next to me at a trade show. I thought that while driving back from that show that he died in a traffic accident. Could be wrong though.

    Yes, I remember seeing that listing at the time. I have some of his 12x20 holders for my F&S. They're beastly heavy, like apparently everything else he built.

    Bob, take a look at his website I linked above. Very much alive, has his finger in a grillion different pies beyond photography.

    More like underwater archaeological research by now. I don't see how he could possibly compete with much more modern ULF designs; but we should be appreciative of all the pioneers.
