    Question 4K Orson Welles , Citizen Kane Scan and MTF , ESF and LSF Analysis

    Hello all, I tried to learn something usable from orson welles citizen kane and conducted a short quick mtf software analysis. I stumbled in to a result which I could not understand anything. Can you help me to get it right ?Click image for larger version.

    Well, if you stated "I did A, B, C, and at this point I do not understand the relation between C and D", maybe someone could help. But
    I stumbled in to a result which I could not understand anything.
    is kind of difficult to comment upon.
    Just a few remarks:
    - The "T" in MTF is for Transfer. So you must analyze the output with a known input. MTF analysis is normally not done with "natural" image as you do. Normally with a perfect sharp black-white edge, even better if slanted.
    - What is the system or process the MTF of which you are trying to measure?
    - Seeing how your MTF graph drops to zero (close) at 0.2 (0.2 what?? presumably cycles/pixel) it looks like the image "wallpaper" has been blown up (oversampled) from a low-res image.
    I stop here and will not write up a tutorial on the MTF. Many such documents can be found online.
