Hey everyone, just joined the group to get some info and knowledge on large format. From Ontario, Canada, I have been doing 35mm and medium format film work for some time now and I am looking to purchase my first LF camera this year and get started down the rabbit hole.

My intention is to get into 4x5 as my enlargers can do up to this size (Omega D5 and Super chromega D). Obviously larger formats can easily be contact printed, but one step at a time...

There are a fair number of people here from Ontario. In addition to those who have already weighed in, @Bob Carnie's in Toronto, @Ari's in Ottawa and I imagine that there are others. I'm from Toronto, and lived for several years in Ottawa. One of the things that I like about New York, where I am now, is that it's culturally similar; well, except for Staten Island

Well I'm about an hour west of Ottawa out in the 'valley' countryside, not too far from Letterkenny Rd (not related to the show as far as I know)

My plan for development is to use rotary drums as I have a bunch for color printing. There are two types in my collection that are setup for 5 inch widths, Unicolor 8x10 drums and the Paterson Colortherm drum with the additional divider.

As for the camera, I'm working on a lead from a pro in Toronto who was using large format for commercial product work but retired when digital came along. Hope to see where that leads to over the next few months.

Keep us posted on your quest. The ideal starter camera would be a monorail, but anything that gets you going is just great,
