    Hello from Bellingham!

Hi there, my name is Patrick and I am an amateur photographer living in Bellingham, a small municipality in north western Washington.

I have a background in writing, but am very unpracticed in visual arts and am in love with learning about them. I have been enjoying documenting moments in my life, mostly digitally, but have gotten into large format film from 35mm for the process, view camera control, and the post industrial-collapse feel of it.

I grew up in a Vancouver suburb, and it's definitely my most natural subject.

This is a FilmLab "scan". Luckily I also like lomography..

Hopefully I'll have a full capture to optical print and scan process in place soon, my goal for this year. If anyone in the PNW has a darkroom, enlarger, and wants to print or shoot, please send me a note!

I have already taken much inspiration from this forum, looking forward to giving some small fraction back.

    Patrick

Welcome! Bellingham has a great photographic history. Home of Beverly B. Dobbs and Galen Biery. And home of Picket House!

...post-industrial collapse ? You're in the right place and have lots to shoot. This is from the old waterfront area:

The local boatyards are great locations to shoot also. Welcome to the LF Forum.

Appreciate the welcome everyone, and the photographers to check out.

I walk or ride by Pickett house daily. Always a bracing experience. I definitely have more cause to go to the Whatcom museum now. The local used bookstore has a remarkably deep photo section as well. And yes, the wooden fish boats at the harbour are all worthy subjects for sure. There's no shortage.

I desperately need to print, the negatives are stacking up..

    Hey Patrick!

Welcome to the forum! I am down in Seattle and have a darkroom if you are interested in printing. Crazy busy with work right now but I plan on getting back in the darkroom soon.
