    Arca RL3Di

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone had hands on experience with the Arca RL3Di? It’s a bit of a strange camera but it kind of intrigues as it takes 4x5 holders, but is completely different from any other “traditional” LF camera, maybe only comparable to the Alpa MF cameras.

Any anecdotal evidence would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,

I own the smaller Rm3Di with digital back, but have no experience with 4x5 operation on the RL3Di. Instead of bellows focussing, the camera offers a helicoil focussing ring that fits for all lenses. Rise, fall and shift are manipulated at the back, swing on the front. For further information I would contact Rod Klukas from Tempe AZ.

I know of one photographier, Alfred Seiland from Austria, who exclusively shots 4x5 with the RL3Di. Please find him in German Wikipedia.

I asked myself which lenses can be operated on this pancake type 4x5: According to the German ARCA Shop webpage the range is 23-210 mm. So usual sets like 90/150 or 65/135/210 are a choice for the RL3Di, from ultra wide angle to at least portrait tele lenses.
