Great photo Vaughn. No beard?
No -- that waited until 7th grade after I finally got tired of shaving.

Vaughn,
Were you weight lifting as a boy, inspired by Superman?
No...just growing up swimming in the ocean, tho this is pretty early on. Hours body-surfing at a time. I have a memory from this particular trip of being sucked towards the shore-break by the retreating water down the steep slope of the sand. We usually hit the beaches to the south...Laguna or San Clemente.
An 8x10 contact, Laguna Beach, late 90s probably. The old guy in dark clothing and white hat stopped to comment while I was setting the 8x10 up, "Too bad the palm trees are there." I laughed, and waited for him to show up below. My great Aunt had a beach house on the boardwalk here -- condemned by the city and the park constructed. I played basketball here a couple times before the knees went.
