    Collections

Most of us know the importance of viewing original prints. I'd like to suggest a "stickied"list of permanent collections where some of the greats may be seen. E.g., Strand archive across the street from the Phila. Museum of Art, by appointment; a research aide needs to bring out what you want to look at from the unframed, mostly unmounted prints. His negs are reportedly not accessible; locked up in a vault in Connecticut.

High Museum in Atlanta has some original Adams, Weston, and other notables in their permanent collection but not always on view. They also have the temporary traveling exhibits of the masters at least once every couple of years, but they always seem to have a photography exhibit on display.
