I almost bought a used overhead spring loaded lighting fixture that bolted to a ceiling from a member here

I settled for 4 used wall booms for $80 Manfrotto Wall Booms

I gave 2 away to a member

Very handy in studio

I guess if it were vertical, rain and snow could collect on the window, affecting exposure times....
Either way Drew would not approve...it is not a well regulated light source....

In my crazy mind I once thought about using a skylight with a camera/box mounted to the ceiling and then an adjustable table below it. And then I wonder what Weston used in his villa in 1923 Mexico .
