I prefer hand wheels
I like but do not own yet his LED heads

Very nice! As I continue to thoroughly enjoy and trust my Heiland 5x7 VC LED head, and as everything I've seen so far which has been produced by Heiland has been truly stellar, my sense is that this new enlarger will indeed perform as expected. Its so very refreshing to see a design which, while offering a high degree of sophistication, does so with an otherwise "minimalist" form...clean, precise, simple, and to the point. Bravo!
11x14 might make more sense for such a large machine. maybe a conversion kit. I agree on the hand wheels or mechanical alternative for fine focus.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Sounds like this enlarger offers user-set references (for each lens used) for the auto focus function...plus a fine focus (focus override) provision in 1/10th millimeter increments - which sounds very workable, and would likely provide the best means for not disturbing the reference settings each time the fine focus is employed.
I also happen to like hand wheels generally...but in this case I'm guessing that Heiland's fine focus control would not only be very efficient and effective, but would also quickly become second-nature for the user.
Anything autofocus reminds me of power windows on cars .... sooner or later you'll wish there was still a traditional hand-crank. And metal changes dimensionally, so fine tuning the focus would be essential, which they have allegedly provided.
