    My First Attempts at Scanning

I captured the negative with a Canon R5 using a CR99 rated lightbox with a film holder and a copy stand from Negative Supply.

The 120 Ektar 100 film was personally processed using Tetenal Colortec C-41. It was carefully timed and it was precisely temperature regulated. The photo was tweaked a tad in Luminar AI with a sky replacement. No serious color adjustments were made. The negative conversion was make using FilmLab and VueScan, this is the best I could produce. I'm not real happy with the colors.

Well, I rescanned the negative using pretty much the same process except this time I used the Epson Perfection V850 Pro with SilverFast software. The final Tiff file was scanned at 3200 ppi, 6680x6680 scan dimensions, 127mb Tiff file.

Personally, I really like the colors much better than what I came up with within the previous effort.

Not that it matters but I just realized, I had scanned the negative upside down the first time :-).

FWIW, I always struggle with this on the V850 But it looks like the V850 effort was worth it.

    Thanks for the kind comment.

I'll keep working on the camera scanning method however as I believe the image and file size will be larger on 35mm scans.
