If I shoot a model on film (8x10") I give her an Instax shot of the scene. That very small in comparison to what the real image is made with.
I shoot the Instax with the Mamiya RB67.
Most models now want only websized images, those are really small.
But I give them a few 4x5" prints and they still like that.
20 years back I would give them 11x14" prints. Then they loved bigger sized images.
I own the gear, but those don't make masterpieces. My everyday experience.
There's an exhibit of Nancy Rexroth's work up right now in New Orleans, at Ten Nineteen Gallery, of some original prints from her IOWA book (Diana camera work). The majority are 4"x4" and a few are 3"x3". The prints are very well done and draw you into them. I'd only seen one original print before so this was a real treat to look at a fairly large selection.

reminds me a little of a movie where the main character's wife is an artist that does paintings so small you need magnifying glasses to view them. But that brings up a related question I never really thought about--since this is LFF, most, if not all of us have 4x5 or larger negatives. What if I wanted to print my 4x5in negative at 6x7cm? Can I set up my enlarger as a reducer? with a really long bellows on the enlarger, I assume?
