    Greetings from Kansas

    Hello,

Just wanted to create an intro post. Another new guy here.

Just picked up a Kodak 2-D 5x7 about a week ago. Everything looks good, no light leaks. But the lens needs replaced or reworked. Shutter speeds dont work, and the aperature blades stick open in everything but the fastest shutter speed. But bulb mode works just fine with a shutter release cable.
Those lenses are easy enough to open and clean, so that is what I did. Figure I will just use the shutter release cable until I can get a more modern lens. So looking for something around 210mm. I mostly photograph architecture and landscapes. Rarely any portraits.

I will also be trying my hand at developing B&W. Its only been about 24 years since I took a film development course in highschool.

Ill post some of my photos once I get going.

I also use medium format, and (gulp) digital.

Thanks for letting me join. I look forward to learning a lot here

Welcome, and, soon. welcome back to the darkroom. Looking forward to seeing your images of Oz -- I mean, Kansas.

You aren't a Lineman, are you? Just kiddin'. Love that song. Welcome. I'm from New Jersey. I can't think of any good New Jersey songs. I just started with 4x5 large format about a year and a half ago. Lots to learn; lots of mistakes to make. Maybe we can learn together. I shoot landscapes in color and BW but send my film out to develop and I scan them at home. I post my photos on Flickr for easy reference. Good luck.

Be careful of the earthquakes when you are there with a long exposure going. They can really blur the image.

Very cool. I will check out your flickr page. For some reason I deleted mine a year or so back and just recently signed back up. I wish they would start promoting or update that site to complete with the instagrams out there.
