    Off the Wall Question

When traveling in Japan, I understand that it is proper etiquette to hand one's business card to another with both hands and the short side toward the recipient. My question is, should this be done when handing over a credit card?

Yes -- and cash, too at stores. Always both hands. And if you are given a business card, make a good show of looking at it -- both sides! I don't think handing a business card by the short side is an issue.

And when receiving change into your hands, cup both hands together to receive it, don't grab it.
