These aren't apps, they're lookup tables. In the professional world, they have preview and fast turnaround functions. In the amateur world, they're for people who subscribe to expensive applications like Adobe Camera Raw/Lightroom and Capture One, but don't know how to use them. It's become a big market.

This company's FAQ attempts to make a virtue of the fact that it doesn't offer sales or discounts. They're not like their "common" competitors, don't ya know

    FAQ: Sales & discounts

That's what we don't do, apart from solid upgrade discounts for our existing customers. Unlike other businesses RNI doesn't have any seasonal, occasional or institutional discounts. Nor do we run any sales. Our prices are the same for everyone.

On the bright side, however, you can buy our products whenever you need them and never get frustrated over missing a sale.

Amusingly, the "other businesses" that offer sale prices on LUTs include Capture One itself, whose customers this company is trying to sell to.

In the filmmaking world, an important distinction is drawn between "Technical LUTs" and "Creative LUTs". The former, as an example, might conform captured footage to a particular colour space, such as Rec. 709 or Rec. 2020, for editing purposes. "Creative LUTs" give footage a particular look within a colour space, which is what this company, and many others, are selling.

I find their website to be frustratingly lacking in any meaningful detail about their product, which, from what little they do say, seem to be just a set of "film-like" profile settings for Lightroom or Capture One. Totally lacking in merit.
