My bike has a motor hub, works fine. Front and rear disc brakes, ordinary cables, no hydraulic stuff. I don't let myself get going very fast going downhill, if the brakes would fail I would attain Mach 0.5.

More stable platform for your camera . Several years ago I tried an Ebike with a, new to me, fancy internal hub gearing, like my old 3 speed Schwinn only more gears. I was trying to figure it out, drifted into the curb, maybe going 8 mph. Flew off broke 4-5 ribs and my right collar bone.
Wow!!! - Lucky you didn't need an "e-bike" like mine after that mishap. It certainly is a pretty stable platform - weighs just under 500 pounds. I keep trying to come up with a decent way to mount my 8 x 10 Linhof on it. I'm in the process of having a full size Ford Transit van modified with a wheelchair lift on the back - hope to pick it up this week. Maybe I'll do a take-off on the photo of St Ansel on the roof of his woody wagon.
Well, he broke his nose falling down in the 1906 SF earthquake. Breaking s finger would hsve been bad for a pianist.
