Thread: Why would someone cut out the core of a film back?

    Bonus modified film back

    I was planning to load film in this cartridge until I realized it was modified to accept 5x7 plates. I'll have to give it a try someday.

    Consider yourself lucky !
    That is how I modified one of my own 5x7 holders for wet plate.
    It is pretty tricky, but when done well, you get to load plates that have the exact same size as 5x7 film.
    Beware of "oysters" though and clean the holder between each plate. Better even; coat the parts that touch the plate with black PU paint.
