A large-format laugh from Matt Marrash

This is terrific, folks. It will put a smile on your face. Newcomers, don't be discouraged; he's only kidding. Sort of.

OMG that is horrible. I'm having flashbacks to when I worked in a camera store in the early 1980s. *shudder*

Hopefully a few newcomers will see this and realize the limitations of a Graphic style camera when it comes to movements.

Much the same applies to the entire group of hand held 4x5 press camera including the often coveted Linhof Technika.

that part was total bullshit. everyone exaggerates about the limited movements of graphics because they don't know how to use one. you have rise, fall, shift, forward and backward tilt or in portrait orientation rise, fall, swing and shift.

The kids are now buying compact point & shoot 35mm cameras. Why? Beats me. But they're having fun.

I think I've made ALL of these mistakes over my 40+ years of LF photography!

Relax, friends. This was a humorous piece, not a documentary. Enjoy your weekend.

"Shank-fluke" adjustments .... yeah, that pretty much describes it. Indeed, every question a newcomer typically asks is answered here. But how come I keep making the same mistakes?
