5x7 Ektachrome, Epson 4990 scanner -vs- Wild M420 microscope

Lots of discussion about scanning film to digital files and all related to digitizing film into digital files. Out of curiosity put a sheet of 5x7 Ektachrome made decades ago as part of checking out a Goerz 14" f9 APO artar before taking ownership. Put the 5x7 color transparancy into the 4990 scanner converted it into a digital file.

Same STOP sign imaged with the Wild M420 macroscope. Stop sign measures 0.026" across with the image length about 6.8" or about 260x.

I would say that the high praise for Goerz Lenses is well deserved. I have a Red Dot Artar that was rescued from a Robertson process camera. I had a Packard shutter, it's setup for my 11x14 studio camera, it's on my list. I shot a bunch of 5x7 Ektachrome in the mid 80's, beautiful stuff.
