    Hello from New Brunswick

Hi all. I am originally from France but spend most of my time in New Brunswick, Canada.

I started photography a few years ago when I got my first DSLR and decided to try large format film photography abut 6 mounths ago after reading many topics in this forum.
The X-ray film and caffenol topics you have here convinced me it would be affordable enough to make the jump.

My first large format camera was a 4x5 made in 1898, then I thought I would need more movements and got a Newton New-View 4x5 from the 1940's. I then wanted bigger and got a no name 5x7 from the early 1900's before I decided to have even bigger and built an 8x10 pinhole camera.

My photos are not great, I'm just an amateur but I am practicing and reading a lot so hopefully I will get better some day.

Other than that, I am the owner of an online forum that's also quite active (nothing to do with photography) and I repair and collect vintage wrist watches.

I'm in Saint John and I have never been there but it should be a nice place to make great shots.

welcome to the group, quite a few Canuckleheads here. Maybe you'll be fortunate enough to bump into Thaddeus Holownia (former taught at Mount Allison). Saw his tall tree prints at Jane Corkin Gallery way back when.
notch codes ? I only use one film...

It's quite lovely, cooler weather much of the time, and people leave you alone in a friendly way.
I'm bringing 20 rolls of Rollei Infrared 135 and 20 rolls of Superpan 200 for my Mamiya TLR. I hope it's enough!

I didn't know him before reading you but I would be honored to meet him.

Chabryart. welcome from down south. My experience with Canada was limited to a couple of weeks in the summer of 1970 but has pleasantly stayed in my memory.

Your watch-fixing skills and talents will undoubtedly serve you well in LF, but you'll have to get something a bit more sophisticated than a pinhole. If you ever get interested in repairing shutters, there are some folks here with invaluable background to get you started. I'll bet you'll find takers, should you decide to offer.

    Looking forward to your work.

Thanks, yes I did repair some shutters and even a couple lenses with balsam separation thanks to my readings on this forum.
I have been a member here for a year but I didn't want to post before I had photos good enough to share.
