Anyone have any tips on how to measure tiny machine screws to order replacements? If I'm working on a camera it's pretty much inevitable that one of those screws ends up on the floor, never to be seen again.

This page is pretty useful in that regard. Its focused on measuring large threads like filters or flanges, but the general information should be correct for screws as well.

This works until you meet a JIS thread. Which is metric in diameter and pitch but not in thread form. I haven't found a source for small JIS bolts so far.

McMaster-Carr stocks some JIS screws. https://www.mcmaster.com/machine-scr...ive-style~jis/

    Also taps. https://www.mcmaster.com/taps/jis-thread-taps/

Along those same lines, the last time I changed oil, I ordered it on-line and it was free, same day delivery.
With my pump, it only took a few minutes to do the complete oil change.
