Material used to block light - between the fil holder and the back of the camera

    Hi
I think that I may need to replace this in my wheman. I was wondering if anyone can tell me which material is normally used for this function, and what in particular is used in a wheman, and where I might source it. Its the purple material in this picture

    Thanks

    Jon

Search for camera light baffle, camera light seal.....they bring up quite a few hits.

Looks like a (poor quality) velvet tape. This an easily available in various widths, thicknesses, lengths and, of course, colours at haberdashery (for women - Uk English use of the word!) shops. Cutting lengths of velvet off a large piece of cloth is doomed to disaster.

I have a 1/2 wide roll of adhesive very thin, non shedding felt

Cannot remember where I bought it

I use black velcro tape, the fuzzy side only, it's thicker

Walk into a fabric store and ask for satin ribbon in black.

    USA has Joanne Fabrics shops

Be a brave man and tread carefully, but examine everything

Lots of good stuff for our purpose

Well, off to the haberdashers for me, in search of velvet or felt tape. Fuzzy side of velcro sounds interesting too.

I've used "telescope flocking" adhesive pieces. Basically super black velour on one side, tacky glue on the other side.
