    Good stuff, Jon.

I'm leaning towards sending my D850 off to get converted to 720.

    Thanks Peter!

I don't regret buying the full spectrum D810. I can use any range of external IR filter, or use it as a regular visual light camera. Sure, you have to buy a bunch of filters for your lenses, but the inexpensive Chinese filters I found work well. The only expensive filter is the visual light one. You also have to use a hood on the live view screen so that you can see the image in bright light. I've gotten used to that as well.

But, if you have another unconverted camera, having a dedicated 720 camera does make life simple!

Peter, I'm having another camera converted, a GFX 50r, and this time to 720nm instead of my preferred 830nm.
I may never, or rarely, use the 720's color spectrum, but I like having the option.
If you're thinking about having one done, I suggest you contact Isaac Szabo for the work.
He's fast, reasonably-priced, and extremely meticulous, with above-and-beyond customer service.

Seriously consider 590. My first conversion was 720. Second was 590. I have been just a lot more satisfied with the images from the 590 conversion. A very subjective opinion though :-)

Indeed. I like the subtler hues of 720, if color is used. Others prefer brighter, more vibrant IR colors.
