The image above is not exhibiting the hot spot, it's a result of a Dx0 filter I used.
Further to your question, Sandy: yes, there is a hotspot with the 35-70.
It seems to affect yellow and green mostly. It's not much of an issue with this lens, I don't find I need to correct it most of the time.
The hotspot starts around f/8, which is fine for me, I shoot wide open (f/4.5) or maybe one stop down.

Who did the work?
Ari, I went with Kolari Vision's Pro Multicoated sensor glass. Supposedly, it's reduces hotspots.

Thanks Peter. Yeah it does okay but I'd also like to do some handhold shots in IR too.
