    Sandy,

The lens is a good candidate if only for its AF capability and light weight. It shows a mild hot spot that is more pronounced in color. It's almost non-existent in B&W.

Either way, it's easily corrected, and I enjoy using the lens for IR.

The image above is not exhibiting the hot spot, it's a result of a Dx0 filter I used.

Further to your question, Sandy: yes, there is a hotspot with the 35-70.
It seems to affect yellow and green mostly. It's not much of an issue with this lens, I don't find I need to correct it most of the time.
The hotspot starts around f/8, which is fine for me, I shoot wide open (f/4.5) or maybe one stop down.

    Another with the same lens:

My converted camera should arrive on Monday.

Ari, I went with Kolari Vision's Pro Multicoated sensor glass. Supposedly, it's reduces hotspots.

I'm interested in seeing the results of your camera, Peter. I'm still on the fence about converting my DSLR.

Thanks Peter. Yeah it does okay but I'd also like to do some handhold shots in IR too.
