Now e-Bay wants my SSN and bank account info . . .???

I GOT THIS MESSAGE FROM E_BAY SAYING I had to up-date my account info or lose the ability to list items for sale. So I clicked on the link and noted that the inforation on file was correct; name address etc. The next page asked for the last four digetsd of my SSN and bank account info. I got out of that page and deleted the message.

There are only three types of mounting flanges; too big, too small and wrong thread!

You should be looking at the email source and link addresses. Likely you were not on eBay and the email was not from them. Check.

Did you read the expanded sender email address first?

I’m betting this request didn’t actually come from eBay

It's not clear if you got the message from within your eBay account, or if it was from an external source such as an email or text.

If it was from an external source, i would log in to your eBay account and see if there is an eBay message there.

It's about identity theft. Time for you to get physical token like a Yubikey and use two-factor authentication. That and a password manager might help you mitigate the effects of the constant phising attacks we all experience all the time on the 'net.

I received the same email (actually more than one in the last month) and it appears to be legitimate. ebay evidently is phasing out the use of Paypal and will now make even more money off your sales.

    See— https://www.pocnetwork.net/internet-...re-middle-man/

There is no way I will trust ebay with my SSN and bank info—I will no longer use them
