Interesting, I've never looked at the rivets on mine, they are tight.
In another life, I repaired musical instruments and replaced a lot of rivets on drum cases. Usually just drilled it out with the appropriate bit and popped another rivet on. Might not be the recommended method!
Does anyone know what gauge the sheet metal parts are? Does anyone have a metal bending brake sufficient to do the bends?
One of my brother-in-laws owns a hvac business. He has a full sheet metal shop, including cnc cutters....

I have seen a lot of big tools in basements, so big I have no idea how they got there
A hand powered sheer can do the job, bending 90's is easy with the right tool
or he could have hired the many small shops in his area to fabricate bits here and there, then assemble in his basement
When I worked once upon a time, I used the large building maintenance metal and wood shops, daily
If I needed water jet, laser cut/etch, CNC it was done as government work
Get all specs for each part

Not to hijack the post, this is related - where would you recommend that I source new springs for the back of a Wehman? The left hand spring on mine seems to be a source of a light leak - it feels weaker than the right hand spring, when I push the back closed on that side the leak disappears, on removal the spring appears bent rather than flat like the right hand one.
What suggestions do you have please? I can bend the spring so its flat again, but that's not a good sign, right?

but have rebent springs and swapped in good ones from scrap on other cameras

Of the custom made parts would it make sense to spec those through an online vendor like emachineshop? Pricing is usually quantity based so group purchases would be most economical.
