We are far from that issue

and we will need some idea of quantity

    spare parts too

    This could expand too much

I bet somebody, not me, comes up with a copycat Kickstarter

A lot of lurkers about, seeking ideas to use

It will happen, because someone will want one, but not have the skill (or time, or patience, etc...) to make it themselves. Meanwhile, many skillful people are trying to find any way possible to scrape up extra cash in this wilderness of an economy we've been in for the past 20 years.

    Hi
My name is Jon Stuart and I'm a Wehman owner in Canada. I'm trying to fix a light leak. For those of you who might be interested, here is a picture of the velvet kinda sorta material where the film holder is inserted. And the troublesome left hand spring.

I have wondered what others would do if a rivet or rivets became too loose. Although I am not having any trouble with mine, I believe I would dril and tap then use appropriate round head bolts.

Is the light leak gone when film holder is pushed in place? See if you can obtain the same form as the other spring.

Not to hijack the post, this is related - where would you recommend that I source new springs for the back of a Wehman? The left hand spring on mine seems to be a source of a light leak - it feels weaker than the right hand spring, when I push the back closed on that side the leak disappears, on removal the spring appears bent rather than flat like the right hand one.

What suggestions do you have please? I can bend the spring so its flat again, but that's not a good sign, right?

    Thanks

Thanks. Unfortunately it does leak when the holder is in place (up the edge of the gap in the 3rd picture) unless the fil holder is pushed against the left side of the back.

How far has this gone? I'd be interested, especially in a 5x7 model.

    Not far

The project needs a current owner to spec it, document in all ways

If 5X7, then a scale down

I think most owners prefer the rarity, as some have sold for big $$$

I doubt it will happen on this forum

Most engineering today is happening in the 3D-printing area, where you can end up with 3 formats cameras for $500, 1/5 of that if you print them your self.
