Ever see One of These? Packard Shutter Regulator

Has anyone ever seen one of these? It seems to be an air pressure regulator for controlling the effective speed of s Pakard-Ideal type of pneumatic shutter.

There are only three types of mounting flanges; too big, too small and wrong thread!

That's a pretty neat idea, although might be overkill for most Packard shutter uses. I could see it being useful for doing something like trying to achieve a 1/4 shutter speed with a Packard, which is hard to do consistently without a lot of practice.

I had a Co2 pellet gun when I was a kid. A couple of pumps stored compressed air for the shot. I wonder if something like that could ever have worked for Packard type shutters. A few quick primps on the bulb to fill a little reservoir and a regulator with two or more settings for slow or fast speeds.

I would think the eBay 'thing' is not very useful as nobody bought it

    Not even me...

Some years ago I tried RC servos

    Waste of time

Packard has offered solenoid actuators for decades on enlargers/gadgets
