Some stuff can take years to find, but it does show up. For example I searched for years to find the Homaskset and eventually some turned up on ebay.

Got them moved into the room. Made a stop gap crank to be able to raise and lower the color one until I find the controller or build/find another hand crank.

Now to figure out why the cls1840 shutter is not working. May or may not keep the color one.

Previous owner of mine had removed the lever from the pin on the shutter due to a easily corrected electrical fault. They left the shutter open all the time. After I corrected the electrical fault, I put it back together the way it is supposed to be. It works much better with the shutter as the 2000W lamp has a considerable after glow.

Hello, I also have an L184 with CLS 1840 color head. It's a project. I don't think I have all the negative carrier parts. I don't have the insert with the "fins" on the side. Does this hold the glass and do you have extras?? I have no glass in mine. So will need to source AN glass too at some point.

How do the holders with "fins" fit in the laraneg - or do they??

My holder (upper left; parts circled in green) does not have these "fins".

Not to be putting anything down, but a Durst 8x10 enlarger would kind of scare me a little. They're so complicated, it seems like there could be a lot to go wrong with one. Though, I know that they're well built.

I rarely use it; but, I feel more comfortable with my Zone VI Type II 8x10. Fairly simple design, and before their demise, I purchased a new set of green and blue 8x10 tubes from Calumet. Of course, I wouldn't have the slightest idea about how to install one. Compact, the 8x10 conversion sits on a shelf most of the time.

Interestingly, I visited the Durst graveyard a few times. A company in Hillsboro, Oregon near where I live, purchased all the remaining equipment when Durst went out of business, including all the design rights. There were multiple 8x10 enlargers, lots of parts, etc., etc.
