    OCR From Google Photos

Today I was reading old printed text, no file, my own printed text

    Looked for OCR

Seems Google just added OCR this week to Google Photos

This is very important to any Artist/Photographer

Will test it after my chores

I've used it in google photos for quite a while to find documents photographed and photos with text in the photo... It finds text from signs, pictures of business cards, document, screenshots, anywhere really.

Here's look for stop or kodak in my photos... It even read kodak off the barrel of the AE.

The AI stuff for organizing/discovering photo content would be a wishful and good next step for adobe lightroom or a competitor... It'd be nice to cut down on the manual tag work for organizing.

    Re: OCR From Google Photos

Finally, such a convenient and essential function has appeared in Google photos. As a student, I constantly have to deal with the need to scan a text from a photo, saving a lot of time in my studies. I often have to download pictures of my notes for my university homework, and recently I needed to download all images from google photos because I had to change the mail, and it was not as easy as I thought. It wasn't easy to find a good article where all this could be described clearly and without unnecessary information. So if someone needs to know how to download photos from google photos, I advise you to use the article that helped me. Hopefully, soon Google will have even more cool apps

So how does this work? A page of text is scanned and the OCR feature turns it into a Word document? Can you change the font or edit the text? Do you have to buy something or is it already available on Google?

I am visually impaired and this sounds like something that will help me with printed materials that have really small text.

I typed in "OCR" and that is what came up.

As Eric Woodbury wrote - some of us don't know what the letters mean and often they have different meanings.
