    Refurbishing film drying cabinet

Picked this up for 200 bucks. The wood was worthless, falling apart. My neighbor and I are rebuilding it using 3/4 in birch plywood. Having metal parts powder coated to something other than chrome and grey.

All the electronics are in good working order. Here are the before picks. Will post finished product. Shortly as we just started on it today.

I built my own using poplar and painting it to match my darkroom. Poplar's nice, because it comes perfectly cut with no warping, etc. Mine doesn't have any circulation, so I leave leave film in it to dry overnight. Since the dimensions were mine, it holds 4x5, 8x10, and it's long enough to hold 120 film strips.

I humidify my Darkroom in winter, no need in summer

I hang film in still air over my sink overnight, my crappy eyes see no evil

Those of you in desert do have crazy dust, been there

My DR inlet air has a big thick Hepa Merv 16 like this

Big filter. Thinking of something like that.

Desert where I am is 115 and higher. Dust can be a problem, but I did pretty good hanging film in a closet with door closed. This is big enough to hold 36 frames of 35mm, 4x5,8x10 and in between
