Re: snubby screwdriver made for tripod plate screws?

This is the screwdriver I use on most, it is not small, with a big tip, a real beauty of an old tool

I tighten my QR down tightly and they don't move, in field or studio I have never needed to tighten a QR. Some can take 2 bolts.

I have yet to break a camera screw, 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 and I try. I used to test bolts to failure on a huge machine.

Shot this 2-1 8X10 Macro of my favorite screwdriver last night. Blade is original and unmarred, the wood handle has a steel cap that is very dented by somebody pounding on it. Not me.

I suspect a garbage picker made an Escape from New York walked to Chicago to my past, where 35 years ago I was taking in tool trades for Snap- On screwdrivers.

Chicago gets many people who cannot survive New York, New York

Mail order a screwdriver? You'd pay more on the shipping than its worth! C'mon.

Wow, I like how gently you use your construction things and do not waste them to buy new ones. It's great when an item is used throughout the years, and not just rests on a dump. Sincerely speaking, I'm not so much into this topic and don't know what I can advise you here, but it seems to me that there are many videos about it on YouTube. My husband always finds everything needed there, and that's how he made repairs in our house. It's the first step, and then you order those particular items at https://www.scrooz.com.au/fasteners/wall-plugs/. Delivery wasn't long in Seattle, so I think you won't wait too much for them either.

The head of a house key is often the right thickness. You might need to reshape it if the screw is recessed. The generic keys with a simple flat square head often work without modification. A Baldwin key has a nicer shape but would need to br filed flat.
