I am sad to report that I spoke with George on the phone earlier today and he says they are "liquidating" next month after 53 years in business. I was hoping I did not hear him correctly. But he repeated that they are closing shop. Quality Light is iconic for me. Where will I send my meters now? Any recommendations and/or referrals would be appreciated.

Sad news. Hopefully George is well and planning on a fun retirement.
Perhaps George can suggest another repairer. It's frightening to thing that he might be the only one.
Yikes, understandable but very not good news. I assume this means once my meter craps out I'm stuck buying a new, difficult to use, wildly over-featured and overly complicated thing.
Is he selling his equipment. He must have some sort of standard illumination device for calibration and maybe a stash of galvometers and selenium cells as neither of those are repairable items and would be needed to 'repair' broken meters. Maybe service manuals for Sekonic and Gossen meters too.
Never thought it would come to this. That was a great place. Will have to keep my Spectra (no batt)....till the end of my time :>). Hope George can recommend someone....

I was hoping he would find someone to take over the shop. I have dealt with him over several years; I'll make it a point to call him and wish him well.

Let's hope someone can step up and fill his place. His kind of service is rare and when you need it, essential. I'm hoping his retirement is because he wants to and not because the business is no longer viable.
