Fallen trees have always fascinated me. As a kid, I remember being delighted at being so close to the tree tops for the first time. Later, this led to a lot of tree climbing in my adolescent years. My mother wasn’t too happy. (“You come down from there!”) These days, I still get to the tree tops, but only when the tree meets me at ground level, like I’m a kid again.
