    Help with this tiny Dallmeyer

This little lens (1.75" diameter and about 1" high) is pretty, but I'm not sure what it is or what it is for. FL is about four inches, and it looks like it might be for a washer stop (I've never had one so I'm unsure). Could it be a projector lens? Its a J.H. Dallmeyer #17056.

Wow! That would make it my oldest lens. Thank you Karl.

Interesting. Even with the name I cannot find any images of the lens online. Must have been uncommon. After I move I'll set it up in front of a Packard and see what it does.

My little Dallmeyer is a 135mm f/16 Rectilinear 1a with wheel stops. With a serial number of 40,800 something, I believe it is quite a bit later, say 1886. It is a wonderful lens on 4x5.
