    Saunders LPL 4500 question

Hi, I have a Saunders LPL 4500. I pretty much only see the II version out there. Is there a difference?
I basically need the 4x5 diffusion box and found one on ebay but they listed that it's for the II or XL. Are the diffusion boxes the same for my non II version?

    thanks for your help

    Re: Saunders LPL 4500 question

I have two, a 4500 II and an XLG version. I have no idea of the differences in the 4500 versions. Why don't you post some photos of your enlarger and we can see if it's different from others. MY 4500 II was an early one, so I changed the light module to the 250W version and to the upgraded VCCE K & IF light with the two filter sets. It came with the single grey VCCE module. L

    Re: Saunders LPL 4500 question

I worked on LPL Enlargers for about 6 years while Omega distributed them as Omega LPL enlargers. I want to say that the Modules are compatible however the power supplies were at some point modified and the pin positions on older Light sources will have a different configuration than what is or lastly was available. I changed out a few of the older style plugs to work with the latest version power supply.

    Re: Saunders LPL 4500 question

The diffusion box should be fine, as Greg noted, the difference is in the power supply. Some came with a round plug and some came with a square one. That may be the main difference, though AFAIK the 4500-II was available with both, depending on age.
