8x10 Kodak Portra 160 box. How to open?

    Hello everyone

Just received from BH my first new box of 8x10 Kodak Portra sheets.
Is it safe just to open the cardboard box?
Found no any tutorials for beginners - like "what's inside the box of Kodak 8x10"

It isn't safe to open under any kind of light, must be opened in total darkness. Usually people use a dark tent or changing bag if opening the bag during daylight hours.
There's an outer box, i.e. the packaging. Open that and there will be another box. Inside that the film should be in a sealed black plastic envelope.
Open the envelope to get the film.
What will you do with the film after you open the box? Load it into a film holder? There are videos and tutorials on that.

Do not forget to close the triple box back after loading your holders and before you open the tent! It’s a common ooops and it’s not fun.

Practice loading the holders with a sacrificial sheet if needed on open light.
