Got one of those old guys right down the street from me (wait...I'm an old guy, too!) Anyway, he has an entire garage wall with hundreds of small bins just filled with all sorts of screws, trinkets, etc. I really think he has more variety than my local hardware store!

    Re: Teeny, tiny wood screws

Nothing can ever go wrong. I had a friend who depended on an old motorcycle for getting around. Some engine screws were wearing out, so he went to a nearby hardware store and bought some. They snapped off during installation; so he walked back there and bought a drill bit, got in a little distance, and it snapped off too, stuck in there. I loaned him a real cobalt bit; but then his cheap screw extractor, purchased at that same store, broke off in the hole in turn. I finally rooted through my old machinist's box and did it myself with the real deal.
