    No negative comment, but maybe her artwork can't support a darkroom like that and a significant other can help support. My wife supported me for many years while I was making less than minimum wage.
    In fact, as I mentioned my 8x10 Durst was $500, but I was so stressed out about their asking price as I was unemployed when I got it. Had to get the check to pay for it from my wife who was working at the time.

    Yes, perhaps. When I graduated from my MFA, for which I had a Teaching Associatship providing full tuition and $1200 a month, I had saved up almost $1500 by the time I graduated.
