    Re: Portraits from 2021

We're still in lockdown here, until June 2. Some people are trying to work off the last 15 months of sitting around.

Ari, love the tonal range and the higher contrast. Gotta ask, film and development please. Cheers!

Two films: Arista EDU (first shot) and CatLabs X 80 (close-up portrait). HC-110 1:40 for both.
    Thank you!

Johnmsanderson - this portrait has a sense of story to it. The flowering mottled tree, single bloom plant, struggling grass, and even the railroad tracks all contribute to the portrait. The clothing and hat have a certain aged appearance in keeping with the subject, sort of a wabi-sabi consistency.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

    Your work is consistently superb.

John, I'm a B&W person, myself, but also striving to create good "environmental" portraits. This stands out. Well done.
